School Spirit Day Friday, October 30

October 26, 2009

Dear Chinook Families,

To celebrate the end of first quarter, the Chinook ASB leadership team has designated Friday, October 30, as Chinook’s first School Spirit Day. To show their school spirit, students can either dress in school colors (blue and gold) or in a Halloween costume.

As costumes vary widely in their appropriateness for school and their ‘disruption factor’, we are providing you with some guidelines and expectations so that there will be a minimal disruption to the learning process.

Here are the costume guidelines at Chinook:

  1. Chinook Dress Code applies
  2. Face paint is acceptable, but no blood
  3. Hats are acceptable, IF they are part of a costume, or blue/gold theme
  4. NO blood, guts or gore
  5. NO weapons of any sort
  6. NO masks
  7. If administrators or teachers decide that a costume is inappropriate, or a disruption to learning, we will require the costume or attire to be changed or removed.
  8. If you have any questions as to whether a costume is appropriate or not, please ask an administrator before the start of school on Friday the 30st.

Please feel free to contact the school if you have any questions regarding costumes at 425-456-6300.

Sincerely,
