Bethany Spinler was an assistant principal at Newport for three years prior to becoming principal. She earned her administration credential through the Danforth Program of Educational Leadership at the University of Washington and holds a BS in Neurobiology and a MA in Science Education from Cornell University. Bethany was a founding teacher of The Center School in Seattle where she taught chemistry and Advanced Placement Biology for four years and served as the school’s portfolio assessment coordinator. Prior to that, she taught AP Chemistry at Jamestown High School in upstate New York.
Bethany enjoys working with Newport’s diverse and talented student population and is passionate about creating safe, creative, personalized, and rigorous learning communities for students and staff alike.
