Tyee attendance
Good Attendance is one of the keys to a students success in school. Most of the experiences that take place in the classroom cannot be duplicated for each student individually including the discussions and the student-to-student interactions that are a vital part of each instructional day.
Daily Absence - If your child is sick, please call the attendance office 456-6809 to report their absence. We ask that you call every day that your child is out due to illness. Please call before 9 AM. Phone calls are made home at this time if we have not heard from a parent.
Daily Appointment – If your child has an appointment and will be late to school please call and let us know 456-6809. If your child needs to leave early for an appointment, please have them bring a note to the attendance office before school and they will be given an early dismissal slip to give to the teacher.
Prearranged Absences – If your child is missing school due to a family event, sporting event, vacation, etc., please have your child pick up a prearranged form in the attendance office. This form must be completed 5 days prior to the absence. They will need to have every teacher sign the form and also the administration. Even if your child is only missing a couple periods, they must complete the form. Otherwise, it is an unexcused absence. If a student has a grade that is below a C in any class, the prearranged will be denied by the administration. The student will have the chance to bring the grade up before they leave on their prearranged absence.
If their absence is due to an appointment such as a doctor appt., dental appt, etc, they do not have to do a prearranged. They may bring a note into the attendance office the morning of the appt and they will be given an early dismissal slip.
Agenda Book - Please look over your child’s agenda book. In there, you will find the policies regarding tardies, unexcused absences, excused absences, loss of credit, attendance codes, and Becca information.
If you have any other questions, please contact the attendance specialist.
